Porta Potty, Dumpster & Storage Container Rental in Doylestown & Central Bucks

Doylestown is the county seat of Bucks County: a borough of Victorian and stone houses, a courthouse, a walkable downtown around State and Main Streets, and three museums built by one eccentric collector, ringed by townships of big lots, farms and newer subdivisions.

The work here runs from historic-district renovations on tight borough streets to whole-house remodels and new homes on two-acre lots in Doylestown Township, Buckingham, Warrington and Chalfont. We deliver porta potties, roll-off dumpsters and storage containers across all of it, on one quote and one invoice, with the borough's street permit planned before the truck comes.

Central Bucks is two kinds of job. In the borough, it's an old house on a narrow lot where the dumpster may have to go in the street under a permit from the borough's Building and Zoning office. Out in the townships, it's a long driveway with room for a 30 yard dumpster, a porta potty by the garage and a 20 foot container for the finishes, and nobody needs a permit to set any of it on the owner's own land.

Where We Work in Central Bucks

The Work That Keeps Central Bucks Busy

  • Historic Renovations

Old houses in the borough getting kitchens, baths and systems brought up to date without losing what makes them historic: a 20 yard dumpster under the street permit, a unit for the crew and a short timeline so the dumpster isn't on the block longer than it has to be.

  • Big-Lot Remodels & New Homes

Whole-house renovations, additions and new builds in the townships, on lots with room for everything: a 30 or 40 yard dumpster on a swap plan, a porta potty on weekly service and a 20 foot container for months of finishes.

  • Barns, Estates & Cleanouts

Barn and outbuilding cleanouts, estate sales and downsizing moves on the farms and big properties, with a 40 yard dumpster for bulky, light debris and a container to hold what's being kept.

Doylestown Borough's Street Permit

Doylestown Borough requires a permit before a dumpster or other trash container is placed in a borough street or the public right-of-way. The permit comes from the borough's Department of Building and Zoning at 57 West Court Street, and the borough's own application spells out how it works: the permit is posted on the dumpster, the dumpster comes out of the street within two weeks unless the borough extends the permit, and the borough inspects it when it's placed and again when it's removed to close the permit. The fee depends on whether the dumpster takes an unmetered space or a metered stall downtown. A dumpster in your own driveway or on your own lot is a different question from the street, and most township jobs never reach the street at all. Doylestown Township, Buckingham, Warrington, Chalfont and New Britain each run their own codes for their own roads, and Route 611, Route 202, Route 313 and the other state routes are PennDOT's, so nothing sits in their right-of-way under any local permit. Tell us the address and we'll say whose rules apply. See Dumpster Rental in Philadelphia for sizes, and add a porta potty and a storage container on the same quote.

A Dumpster on a Borough Street

Many borough houses have no driveway, or a driveway too short and too close to the neighbors for a roll-off truck. On those blocks, the dumpster goes in the street, in a legal parking space in front of the house, under the borough's permit. A 10 or 20 yard dumpster fits a parking space; a 30 usually doesn't. The two-week limit on the permit shapes the plan: time the delivery to the demolition, size the dumpster so one or two fills cover the messy part of the job, and pull it as soon as the phase is done. If the job runs longer, the borough can extend the permit, but it has to be asked before the two weeks run out.

Downtown, around State and Main Streets, the parking is metered and the spaces are busy all day with shoppers, the courthouse and the restaurants. A dumpster in a metered stall costs more under the borough's fee and is in everyone's way, so a storefront renovation downtown is usually better served by the lot behind the building, if there is one, or by a short dumpster swapped often.

A porta potty for a borough job goes on the property where there's any room at all, in a side yard or behind the house, and inside the house once a bathroom works, so it doesn't sit on a sidewalk in a historic district.

Township Lots: Room for Everything

Out in Doylestown Township, Buckingham and Plumstead, the lots are big and the driveways are long, and the placement question becomes how to keep the equipment off the lawn and the septic field. A roll-off truck needs firm ground and a straight approach, so the dumpster usually goes on the driveway near the garage, with plywood under its rails to protect the asphalt. A 30 yard dumpster is the common choice for a whole-house renovation; a 40 makes sense for a teardown or a barn cleanout where there's room to turn the truck.

Many of these homes are on septic systems and wells, which matters more than people expect. A loaded roll-off truck on a septic field can crush the pipes, so we'll ask where the tank and the field are before we plan the placement. The same goes for the porta potty's service truck: it needs a path that stays on the driveway.

Events in Doylestown

Doylestown's calendar is full: the arts festival that fills the downtown streets, the farmers market, the parades, races and fundraisers, school graduations and weddings at the farms and estates outside the borough. Events on borough streets go through the borough's approvals, and the organizer handles those. We handle the units: standard units in clusters with an accessible unit in each, hand wash stations by the food, and a luxury restroom trailer for a wedding on a farm where guests expect a real bathroom. See event rentals and luxury restroom trailer rental for the details.
